Builders Care is a safety net for fragile souls in the community in need of home repair - typically a senior citizen or widow on a low fixed income. Their home has served a family but grown old with time. The roof is leaking, the plumbing is failing, the heating system is on the fritz, the floors are weakening, and the electricity is dangerous. There may even be a question of personal health; Life takes an unexpected turn with a catastrophic illness or injury. A small step to the entry of the home, while not an obstacle for most of us is a huge burden to someone with limited mobility or in a wheelchair. Many times our seniors will not tell anyone about their situation because of shame or even fear of losing their home and independent living. That’s when Builders Care and the NEFBA step up with help and support to turn things around for these people in need.
