U.S.O.
Rest Area at JIA
We
are building the U.S.O. Rest Area in the Jacksonville International
Airport. These young military folks traveling through and
from JIA simply need a decent place with a kind word to
wait for various flights. The facility will seat at least
24, have a 42-inch big screen TV (TV by Engle Homes), X-Box
games, and comfortable rest areas.
We are currently looking for trade partners and corporate
and individual support to make this happen! Some of these
folks will not be coming home. The least we can do is give
them a seat. Please contact Bill or Robin with your support
for this project. |

United
Way Sign Up Time
United
Way Giving - Designate Builders Care
It is that time of year again for those of you who give
to United Way. But, did you know that you can designate
who United Way gives your money to? Without taking an additional
penny out of your pocket, you can be a Builders Care donator!
Simply put BUILDERS CARE in the designation area. This can
be done through the e-mail or paper United Way form. By
giving to Builders Care you can actually see where your
money is going, who it is helping, and we give you the opportunity
to come help those who are benefitting from your donation
through our volunteer workdays. What a great deal!
So, this year spread the word to all your friends and co-workers
about how they can help Builders Care without spending any
extra dollars than they already give. The designation area
on the paper form is on the back, in the lower right hand
corner. Simply enter Builders Care under designated giving.
On the e-mail form there is a separate area to designate
what companies you want to give your donation to. Although
Builders Care is not on the United Way list of numbered
companies, you can designate that your donation goes to
Builders Care.
Thank you for all of your support. |

Builders Care
Angelwood Project Begins Friday, July 28, 2006
JACKSONVILLE, FL - July 25, 2006
There's
always a next project, a next home or organization that
needs help. That next project for
Builders Care is Angelwood.(www.angelwoodjax.org).
Angelwood
provides group homes and respite care for children and adults
with disabilities. One house, which is home to five precious
women, is where Builder's Care and John Molyneaux and family
will perform the next 'miracle'. Angelwood exists to improve
the quality of life for the disabled. They offer 24-hour
supervision, training and development courses to enable
all those who come to live their life to the fullest. For
two weeks in August, Builders Care exists to serve this
wonderful organization.
Often
families with disabled children are torn apart by the day
to day care and attention required when one family member
has a mental or physical disability. Statistics show the
divorce rate for these families is more than 85%.
The
improvements Builders Care will make to this Angelwood home
will provide an area for respite care available to all families
in our community who simply need someone who is qualified
to love and care for their family member while they get
away beit for two hours or for a much needed weeks vacation.
Builders Care and Angelwood hope this new respite care facility
will help families grow strong and stay strong.
One
of the most enjoyable days (demolition) is set for Friday,
July 28, 2006. Volunteers from the US Navy will be on hand.
We hope to see you there!

Builders Care
Announces Project for Next Builders Care TV Show
JACKSONVILLE, FL - June 20, 2006
The
next Builders Care TV Show will chronicle the complete remodeling
and rehabilitation of the Page-Bailie Residence, a home
for special-needs foster and adopted children.
ICI
president Don Wilford and the Builders Care staff conducted
a pre-construction inspection and interview in preparation
for this comprehensive project. Wilford listened to Mom,
Melissa (foreground), and Aunt Diane (background) concerning
the specific needs in the home and began to formulate ideas
and possibilities for the project. Demolotion and filming
started on July 10.
"I
can't wait to get my hands on this one," Wilford stated.
"We really want to positively impact the home environment
for this special family."

2006 Builders
Care Demo Derby was a SMASHING success!
JACKSONVILLE, FL - February 11, 2006
The
fourth annual Builders Care Demolition Derby was held under
cover on a rainy night in February. The new location at
the Clay County Fairgrounds was an excellent venue and provided
a roof over the entire event for the inclement weather.
An estimated crowd of 4,000 was on hand to see a record
number of 44 cars vie for supremacy!
Deemed
a FUNd Raiser by the staff, the event filled all our expectations.
Through the tireless efforts of over a hundred volunteers,
it went off without a hitch and resulted in many new members
of the Builders Care $2 Club!
The
derby has become a tradition around Builders Care,
said Ken Kuester, Chairman of the Board. What leaders
of many organizations know is that their groups involvement
in Builders Care, helping someone in need, is the best team
building exercise available. The annual derby takes all
the individual corporate teams and bonds them into a larger
team called Builders Care. Even if the event did not raise
money it would be worth while simply due to the team spirited
momentum it builds.
